Welcome to Art with Ami and thanks for visiting! My name is Ami Perez and I’m a certified art educator with over 20 years of experience with elementary and middle school students. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from the University of Florida, as well as post-graduate work in Art Education from the University of Central Florida. I became an art educator for so many reasons, but mainly because I believe that art has so many benefits for all people of any age. I also believe that every student should have access to a quality art education. That is why I have created Art with Ami, so I can share my ideas and resources with you! As a beginning art teacher 20 years ago, I was always looking for resources, ideas, and engaging lessons and found it hard at times. We now have such an amazing growing art teacher community that shares so much and I would love to be a part of that for anyone just starting out or looking for engaging art making for kids at home!
